Chair of the Board – Seth Fearey

Seth Fearey has lived in Kyrgyzstan for four years, working as the Country Director for the Peace Corps. He is now working as an independent consultant under the name of Connected Communities, an economic development consultancy he formed in 1997.

The son of a Foreign Service Officer, Seth grew up living overseas. After completing his BA in Political Science and Psychology at Occidental College in 1971, Seth served as a Peace Corps Volunteer for two years in Nepal. He then earned a Masters in Business Administration at Stanford University.

Seth enjoyed a 20-year career at Hewlett-Packard (HP) in California, working in a variety of management positions, including finance, marketing, information systems, and public policy.

In 1992, while working for HP, Seth led the formation of Smart Valley Inc., an NGO dedicated to helping Silicon Valley capitalize on the emerging Internet. Seth served on the Board of Directors for five years, at which time the Board determined that the goal of the organization had been achieved.

Seth left HP in 1997 to work for Collaborative Economics. In 1998 he formed his own economic consultancy to help local governments learn how to use the Internet for economic development. In 2004, Seth joined Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Joint Venture is a public-private partnership dedicated to providing economic development leadership for Silicon Valley.

Seth left Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network in 2009 to work for the Peace Corps in the Kyrgyz Republic. He retired from the Peace Corps in July 2013.

Chubak Boikonov – Head of Ideagrad Business Incubator as well as founder of Zoffice startup in Kyrgyzstan.

Talant Sultanov – Former Head of National Institute of Strategic Research under Kyrgyz Government, Vice-President of American University in Central Asia. Talant currently chairs National Digital Transformation Strategy under President of Kyrgyz Republic.

Bermet Tursunkulova – Former Deputy Minister of Education in Kyrgyz Republic, Vice President of American University in Central Asia. Presently Bermet is consultant at World Bank as well as Associate Professor at AUCA.

Azis Abakirov – Chair of Kyrgyz Association of Software and Services Developers.
