Workshop on role of Education system in the age of AI held in Turin, Italy

What will the labor market be like with the development of Artificial Intelligence? What skills and competencies are needed now, how should the global education sector adapt against the backdrop of a changing paradigm of the mission of educational institutions? To find answers to these questions, I took part in an international conference of education experts in the Italian city of Turin earlier this month.
Turin is notable for the fact that it is from here that the so-called «Turin Process» begins — the formation of policies in the field of vocational education and training to increase its contribution to the economic and social development of the country. This process includes countries of the European Union, including Central Asia.
The two-day practical conference «Skills ® Evolution: Understanding and Developing Skills for a Digital Era» brought together about 100 representatives from the European Union and partner countries. Participants shared the current situation on the role of AI in the education sector in their countries, what challenges exist, and how they are overcome. In the second part of the conference, we actively imagined what Education will be like in 2050, both in school, university and in the lifelong education system. We came up with the main concepts and resolutions of what we would like to see in the future for the benefit of humanity.
In addition, we had a great opportunity to visit Comau, a leader in the robotics market and the main supplier of robotic equipment for Tesla and new representatives of the Chinese auto industry. We found that there is a huge demand for certified welders who can work with new equipment in automated enterprises installed at Comau’s customer factories. These specialists can be trained using the latest technologies in Central Asian countries and sent to EU countries to improve economic well-being.
