Joint ICTP-IAEA Workshop on Edge AI for Environmental and Radiation Sensing — Bishkek
The Joint ICTP-IAEA Workshop on Edge Artificial Intelligence for Environmental and Radiation Sensing (SMR 4190) will run in Bishkek from 14 to 18 September 2026. The programme covers Edge AI and TinyML, low-power sensing devices, radiation detection instrumentation, machine learning deployment on resource-constrained hardware, energy-efficient model design, and case studies in scaling such systems in remote and infrastructure-limited settings.
The workshop is co-organized by the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Internet Society Kyrgyz Chapter (ISOC Kyrgyzstan), and the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG). KG Labs is a co-organizer through ISOC Kyrgyzstan. Scientific contact: Marco Zennaro (ICTP). IAEA contact: Milan Matos. Local co-organizers: Bolot Moldobekov (CAIAG), Aziz Soltobaev and Talant I.
