KG Labs held a Panel Discussion on: What is Creative Economy in Kyrgyzstan?

On August 14, еру panel discussion on “Creative Economy and its Development in the Kyrgyz Republic” was held in Bishkek by KG Labs Public Foundation.

What is a creative economy? Does it exist in the Kyrgyz Republic? Who are the participants in this market? And does our country have the potential to develop creative industries?

KG Labs began its efforts to support the development of the creative economy in Kyrgyzstan. As part of this initiative, the Creative Business Cup 2018 will be held for the first time. This is a competition of business projects in creative industries.

As a part of the Creative Business Cup 2018 – Kyrgyzstan, we held the first pre-competition event dedicated to this topic. On August 14, a panel discussion  on the topic of creative economy and its development in Kyrgyzstan took place.

Panel discussion participants:

Raushanna Sarkeeva – founder of “Городские Инициативы” Public Initiative and co-founder of Rush Data;
Daniyar Amanaliev – co-founder of the “Ololo” company;
Galina Koretskaya – Project Manager for Culture and Art of the British Council in Kazakhstan;
Aziz Soltobaev – founder of KG Labs Public Foundation.


Invited experts and guests talked about whether there is a creative economy in the Kyrgyz Republic and what its condition is, as well as ways to develop and maintain it. Our guests from Kazakhstan gave examples of how the creative economy has become one of the main elements of the UK economy and how it is developing in Kazakhstan.

The panel discussion was held online, a question and answer session was held with the attendees of the event.
